We installed the Sophos antivirus package on mail.cosmos.net.au - it also filters SPAM. It's currently scanning all emails getting sent TO and FROM cosmos users.
Mail in and out is being scanned for virus and spam mail will get delivered but a warning message will be sent with the email - the attachment IS deleted however. The user will get a message either way saying they were sent or are sending viruses and to check their systems.
Here is a typical message the sender/recipient might see when a virus is deleted off their incoming/outgoing mail by the server.
